Sharon McCarthy Again Named to Top 100 Lawyers and 50 Women Lawyers in New York Metro Area
NEW YORK (November 6, 2025) — Twelve Kostelanetz attorneys have been named to New York Metro Super Lawyers for 2025 for their experience and skill in the areas of Tax, Criminal Defense: White Collar, and Business Litigation.
In addition, partner Sharon L. McCarthy has again been named by Super Lawyers as one of the Top 100 Lawyers and one of the Top 50 Women lawyers in the New York Metro Area for 2025.

Super Lawyers again recognized two Kostelanetz attorneys as New York Metro Rising Stars for Criminal Defense: White Collar:

Super Lawyers describes itself as a “rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.” Inclusion on the annual list is an honorary distinction, as no more than 5 percent of applicant attorneys in each state are chosen based on “12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement,” according to Super Lawyers. The Super Lawyers lists are published nationwide in Super Lawyers Magazines and in leading city and regional magazines and newspapers.
Super Lawyers notes that the selection process for its Rising Stars list is the same as the traditional Super Lawyers process, but those eligible for the Rising Stars list must be 1) 40 or younger or 2) have practiced law for no more than ten years. While up to five percent of the lawyers in the state may be selected for the overall Super Lawyers list, no more than 2.5 percent may be recognized as a Rising Star.
For its “Top” list, Super Lawyers notes that “Each year, Super Lawyers recognizes the top lawyers in New York Metro via a patented multiphase selection process involving peer nomination, independent research, and peer evaluation. New York Metro lawyers who receive the highest point totals during this selection process are further recognized in New York Metro Super Lawyers Top Lists.”
