New York (June 28, 2021) — Kostelanetz & Fink has been named a leading tax controversy law firm by the independent rankings agency The Legal 500 and partner Caroline Ciraolo has been recognized as a “Leading Lawyer.”
In its recently published 2021 rankings, The Legal 500 ranks K&F in the category of “U.S. Taxes: Contentious,” noting that K&F is “a firmly established boutique firm that is sought after for corporates, individuals and trusts facing civil and criminal tax controversy actions.”
The rankings agency noted that partners Bryan Skarlatos, Megan Brackney and Sharon McCarthy in New York “are regularly engaged in federal and state audits and appeals, whistleblowing claims, fraud investigations and white-collar tax prosecutions,” and that Ms. Ciraolo and Jay Nanavati “are key contacts” in Washington, D.C.
In naming Ms. Ciraolo as a “Leading Lawyer” in U.S. Taxes: Contentious, The Legal 500 quoted one interviewee as saying, “Caroline Ciraolo is out of sight. A huge leader in the field.”
The Legal 500 also noted former IRS Criminal Investigation chief Don Fort’s decision last October to join the firm as Director of Investigations, saying, Fort “has a wealth of experience in government investigations.”
