This spring, K&F expanded its Pre-Law Paralegal Program (for high-achieving college graduates) with the inauguration of an internship for pre-law undergraduates at Spelman College, which is ranked number 1 among historically Black colleges and universities. The program offers a paid internship to a Spelman student interested in joining K&F’s paralegal team for a semester. Last month, Destiny Reese joined the firm as its first Spelman intern while she completes the last semester of her bachelor’s degree there. Ms. Reese will be graduating summa cum laude in May 2021 as an Ethel Waddell Githii Honors scholar. She serves as President of the Morehouse Spelman Pre-Law Society, an organization with roughly 180 members on the campuses of Spelman and Morehouse College. She is also a member of both the Sigma Tau Delta and the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Societies. After graduation, Ms. Reese will be continuing to work with K&F as a full-time paralegal in the Pre-Law Paralegal Program prior to attending law school. K&F paralegals receive 25 hours of initial, formal training, followed by two additional, formal training sessions every month, which helps them serve K&F clients and prepare for law school. Alumni of the K&F Pre-Law Paralegal Program have gone on to attend law school at Columbia University, New York University, Harvard University, Stanford University, and University of California, Irvine.
