On October 30, 2023, the Legal Aid Society of New York awarded Claude M. Millman and Ashley Morales 2023 Pro Bono Publico Awards for their outstanding achievement in pro bono services. Each year, the Legal Aid Society works with over 100 law firms and 2,000 individuals across New York City to provide legal assistance to under-resourced communities. Legal Aid staff in every borough nominates firms and individuals for their exceptional contributions to Legal Aid’s pro bono work. Millman and Morales were among 260 individuals honored by The Legal Aid Society. Recipients were honored at the 2023 Pro Bono Publico Awards Ceremony at Prince George Ballroom.
