In 2020, Liz became a Lunsford Oral Research Honoree for her research on implicit bias in digital criminal trials, which arose as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic. She is a published poet and researcher, and an advocate for gender equality in the law. Liz coached high school mock trial for three years in Menlo Park, California. Her students earned county and 1-on-1 world championship awards.
Liz began her legal career in 2016 as an intern with the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office in California. There, she supported attorneys and law clerks in prosecuting sexual assault, child abuse, and homicide cases. Since then, she has worked as an Executive Assistant for a Broadway theater and as a manager for a restaurant in Menlo Park, California.
Liz is originally from Riverside, California. In her free time she is a volunteer mock trial coach at the University of Maryland, College Park and serves on the Diversity & Inclusion Committee for the American Mock Trial Association. She is a certified notary public in the District of Columbia. Liz joined Kostelanetz LLP in 2022.
