Michael was recognized in the inaugural 2022 edition of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America in the area of Tax Law. He was recognized again in the 2023 and 2024 editions in the areas of Tax Law and Tax Litigation and Controversy.
Michael received his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, and J.D. from the Georgia State University College of Law, where he was an active participant in the Phillip C. Cook Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic.
Michael is licensed to practice in Florida and Georgia, and before the United States Tax Court. He is member of the American Bar Association and served on the Advisory Board of the Phillip C. Cook Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic at Georgia State University College of Law from 2014 to 2021.
Michael works out of Kostelanetz LLP’s Atlanta office and previously was an attorney at Todd Welty, P.C. until that firm combined forces with Kostelanetz in June 2024. Prior to joining Todd Welty, P.C., Michael was a Senior Associate with Chamberlain Hrdlicka’s Tax Controversy and Litigation practice group.
