Ally McVey graduated from the University of Virginia in May of 2026, earning a B.A. in Political Philosophy, Policy, and Law with Highest Distinction. Her graduating thesis explored the history of equal protection jurisprudence, arguing that its current construction is insufficient to protect vulnerable groups, including the American transgender community.
While at UVA, Ally served as the Chair of the University Judiciary Committee, the University’s fully student-led disciplinary system, and was an avid participant in the University’s tradition of student self-governance. She also worked as a Teaching Assistant for undergraduate courses in Commercial and Constitutional Law and competed with the University’s undergraduate moot court team. Ally was also a Jefferson and Echols Scholar and lived on the University’s historic Lawn during her fourth year.
