NYCPA Meet the IRS Event 2026


Frank Agostino will moderate a panel at the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants’ (NYCPA) annual “Meet the IRS Event” on January 21, 2026, at the IRS office on 290 Broadway in New York, NY, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eastern. 

Virtual attendance options are available, and live attendance includes all-day access to IRS case specialists for case resolution, plus complimentary breakfast and lunch. Kostelanetz LLP is a proud sponsor of this year's event.

Frank will moderate a session with former IRS Commissioners Danny Werfel, David Kautter, and Michael Faulkender. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet National Taxpayer Advocate Erin Collins, as well as the Manhattan, Trenton, New York State, and New York City Taxpayer Advocates. Current and former IRS leadership will also present sessions on the current state of IRS operations, collections, fraud awareness, and how the agency is utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) with a hands-on AI experience session.

Other speakers include Trish Turner, former head of IRS Digital Assets, and Sharyn Fisk, former director of the IRS Office of Professional Responsibility.

Attendees can also receive pro bono tax controversy case assignments from low-income tax clinics.
