NJCPA Fall Tax Summit

Michael Sardar will present a program on IRS Voluntary Disclosure Practice at the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA) Tax Summit, a virtual conference on October 22, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eastern.

Continuing education credit is available.

The full-day conference will focus on preparing for the 2026 tax season, including key developments, strategies, and planning ideas. Attendees will learn how to sharpen their approach to tax changes in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), spot qualified small business stock (QSBS) eligibility pitfalls, and assess how new tax rules might affect individual returns, business transactions, and trust distributions. IRS and New Jersey Division of Taxation employees will also present sessions.

Michael's session, “Navigating the IRS Voluntary Disclosure Practice: Core Fundamentals and Emerging Reforms,” will run from 10:30 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. Eastern and will help attendees better understand the IRS Criminal Investigation Voluntary Disclosure Practice (VDP) for clients facing criminal exposure for prior tax non-compliance. Michael will discuss the VDP's core framework, including the application process, lookback period, civil penalty structures, and proposed structural changes to the VDP, so practitioners can better understand how the VDP may help noncompliant clients.
