Andy Weiner will present on a panel at the 50th annual Federal Bar Association Tax Law Conference hosted by the FBA’s Section on Taxation.
Andy’s session, “Developments on Penalty Litigation: The Seventh Amendment Right to a Jury Trial, Ethics, and Beyond,” will discuss current developments on penalty litigation and IRS civil penalties after the Supreme Court’s decision in Securities and Exchange Commission v. Jarkesy and whether taxpayers have a Seventh Amendment right to a jury trial when the IRS asserts civil penalties.
The panel will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Eastern on Friday, March 6, 2026. Andy will be joined by George Abney, partner at Alston & Bird; Sean McMahon, shareholder at McMahon & Tivnan P.C.; and Sanford J. Boxerman, shareholder at Neill Schwerin Boxerman P.C. The panel will be moderated by Meeren Amin, partner at Fox Rothschild LLP.
