Webinar: Tax Exemption and the New Scrutiny of Nonprofits
June 12 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EDT
Partner Megan L. Brackney will be part of a webinar panel hosted by Pace University’s Elisabeth Haub School of Law on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Eastern. This webinar is sponsored by the American Tax Policy Institute, and Kostelanetz LLP is a proud co-sponsor.
The webinar will cover the evolving regulatory challenges that nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations are facing, given recent changes in administrative priorities. The program will examine concerns about heightened scrutiny of organizational language, mission statements, and program activities, among other things. Panelists will offer practical guidance for nonprofit leaders and advisors on navigating regulatory uncertainty while maintaining organizational integrity and mission focus. The discussion will place current developments in historical context and provide forward-looking strategies for nonprofit governance, compliance, and risk management in a complex regulatory environment.
Megan will be joined by Bridget J. Crawford of the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University and American Tax Policy Institute; Ellen P. Aprill of the Lowell Milken Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofits at UCLA School of Law, LMU Loyola Law School, and American Tax Policy Institute; Brandon DeBot of the Tax Law Center, NYU Law; and Phil Hackney, University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
