Kostelanetz LLP partner Bryan C. Skarlatos will host a key session at the 55th Annual Sidney Kess New York Estate, Tax, and Financial Planning Conference, organized by the UJA Federation of New York. Bryan’s session, titled “Real-Life Ethical Issues That Arise When Advising Clients Pre-2026,” will take place on the second day of the virtual event, Wednesday, October 30th at 4 PM EST. This session will address critical ethical considerations for practitioners handling gift taxes during year-end planning engagements for 2025 and beyond, particularly as key provisions of the 2018 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act are set to sunset. The session also offers an ethics credit.
The Sidney Kess Conference will be held virtually from October 29-30, 2024, allowing attendees from around the globe to participate. The conference covers a broad range of federal and New York state tax topics, including federal estate taxes, closely-held businesses, and updates to New York tax law. Attendees can earn up to 14 CPE, CFP, and CLE credits.
