New York Law School’s Annual Workshop in Professional Responsibility in Tax Practice

Kostelanetz partner Caroline Ciraolo will deliver the keynote address at New York Law School’s 22nd Annual Workshop in Professional Responsibility in Tax Practice. Her talk, “The Holy Grail: Preserving the Attorney-Client Privilege,” will be on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 9 a.m.
Caroline’s keynote will discuss attorney-client privilege in complex tax controversy matters. The workshop will also feature sessions on navigating reasonable cause in a post-Loper Bright world, estate planning and tax advice, cybersecurity essentials for practicing lawyers, and the ethical considerations of counseling executives and corporate boards.

About Caroline
Caroline Ciraolo is a former Acting Assistant Attorney General of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Tax Division and a founder of Kostelanetz’s Washington, D.C. office. Her practice focuses on federal and state civil tax controversies, including representation in sensitive audits, administrative appeals, and litigation, providing tax advice, conducting internal investigations, and representing individuals and entities in criminal tax investigations and prosecutions. She also serves as a consulting and testifying expert witness and an independent mediator in tax disputes.
