Cambridge Forum on International Tax & Disputes

Kostelanetz partner Caroline Ciraolo and her colleague Susanne Schreiber of Switzerland-based Bär & Karrer Ltd will co-chair the 2025 Cambridge Forum on International Tax & Disputes in Cascais, Portugal, from May 21 to 23, 2025.

The Forum invites leading lawyers from renowned regional, national, and multinational firms to convene and discuss the latest developments in international tax compliance and disputes. Issues to be addressed during the 2025 Forum include global updates in tax enforcement, privacy and data security, GAAR and beneficial ownership, special entities, and resolution mechanisms for uncertainties and disputes. Using candid, seminar-style discussion, the group shares experiences and engages in meaningful dialogue on the most pressing issues they face.

About Caroline

Caroline is a former Acting Assistant Attorney General of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Tax Division and a founder of Kostelanetz’s Washington, D.C. office. Her practice focuses on federal and state civil tax controversies, including representation in sensitive audits, administrative appeals, and litigation, providing tax advice, conducting internal investigations, and representing individuals and entities in criminal tax investigations and prosecutions. She also serves as a consulting and testifying expert witness and an independent mediator in tax disputes.
