Samuel’s passions for advocacy within the criminal legal system motivated him to become a legal volunteer for the Cornell University Parole Initiative and a research assistant for the Cornell Law Capital Punishment and Juvenile Justice clinics. In his Senior year, he worked closely with Dr. Tess Pendergrast, researching how idealized narratives of rehabilitation shape parole outcomes in the State of New York and the United States as a whole.
