Garrett L. Brodeur was featured on a recent episode of Tax Chats, a tax-focused podcast hosted by two accounting professors, Scott Dyreng (Fuqua School of Business, Duke University) and Jeff Hoopes (Kenan–Flagler Business School, University of North Carolina). Garrett joined Tax Chats for an episode titled “An NFT for Drinking Coffee at Starbucks?” to discuss “Odyssey,” a new blockchain and NFT-based customer rewards program, and other issues relating to tax and digital assets. Brodeur and Mahima Chaudhary wrote an article on “Odyssey” in Tax Notes Federal in November 2022.
Brodeur’s practice focuses on federal and state tax controversies, digital assets, and white collar criminal defense. He is an active member of the ABA Tax Section where he serves as vice chair of the Tax Practice & Technology Committee. Brodeur also writes for Tax Notes, Bloomberg Tax, and the ABA Tax Times on issues relating to tax and digital assets, and regularly speaks as a panelist at conferences for the American Bar Association and International Fiscal Association.
